SHARES Technology Presentation at HL7 FHIR DevDays 2024

February 11th, 2024, Minneapolis, Minnesota

At HL7 FHIR DevDays, Dr. Preston Lee gave the first public demonstration of the SHARES technology vision and reference stack deployments to a live audience of FHIR developers and stakeholders. In a session titled, “Respecting Patient Privacy with FHIR Consent Management and CDS Hooks” moderated by Firely Founder and CEO Rein Wertheim, Dr. Lee provided a developer overview of implementer challenges in using FHIR R5 to comply with 42 CFR Part 2 by the 2026 deadline, SHARES’ repurposable core community library approach, and live walkthrough of current user interface prototypes supporting the primary data exchange target architectures and core research aims.

Through the session, SHARES also receives designation as the first CDS Hooks-based full stack reference implementation to be published and distributed through HL7 Foundry. A recording of the session will be made public later this year.
